Wateree River Heritage Preserve Wildlife Management Area Draft Management Plan
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is requesting public comments on the Draft Management Plan for Wateree River Heritage Preserve in Richland County. DNR staff have prepared the Draft Management Plan to guide management and use of the property.
The Wateree River Heritage Preserve (WRHP) was acquired by DNR as partial mitigation for the Haile Gold Mine project in Lancaster County. WRHP is a 3,674-acre tract of land located seventeen miles east of Columbia on Highway 378 near the Eastover community. The property is bordered by the Wateree River and is on the Richland/Sumter County line, with all of the land area in Richland County.
The draft WRHP management is provided in the Adobe PDF format and you can provide comments on the website or by email. DNR will be accepting comments on the plan until May 27, 2016.
