Handgun Education

The Basic Handgun Familiarization class is for people who have little-to-no experience with handguns. Participants will learn about safety, handling, and techniques that are required to properly handle and shoot a handgun. Most of this class is based in a classroom setting with some live fire on the range.

Our instructors are SCDNR Law Enforcement officers with handgun training and an expertise in this field. This IS NOT a CWP class, but rather an 8-hour pre-CWP class. Plan to bring lunch and your own eye and ear protection. We provide an array of handguns and ammunition for participants to utilize during the class. Participants may bring their own handgun and ammunition, but we cannot provide ammunition for your personal handgun. No loaded firearms or ammunition are allowed in the classroom. This is a fun, low-stress class designed to teach what you need to know going forward in the sporting field, hunting environment or CWP training.

The cost is $20.00, and you must register for this class online.
