SCDNR Celebrates 75 years of Providing Public Lands at the Webb Wildlife Center on June 4th
As part of a year-long celebration the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources hosted a Field Day on Saturday, June 4th at the James W. Webb Wildlife Center and Management Area near Garnett in Hampton County. The Webb Center was the first Wildlife Management Area (WMA) purchased by the State of South Carolina in 1941. Now, 75 years later, SCDNR provides quality public outdoor recreation opportunities on more than 1 million acres of land across the state in the WMA program.
To commemorate the 75th year milestone, the Field Day at the Webb Center offered a number of special programs and activities led by the DNR's Wildlife Section staff and other outdoor professionals.
