Richland County is getting a new wildlife management area (WMA) and youth special hunt area near Wateree WMA in Eastover.
On Nov. 6, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at the Love Farm WMA and Nat Love Youth Special Hunt Area to mark the opening of the property which will be used for a public dove field, additional waterfowl draw hunt opportunities and special youth hunts.
The 782-acre property was conveyed to the agency in September 2019 by The Conservation Fund.
The Love Farm WMA/Nat Love Youth Special Hunt Area was made possible with federal funding from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Wildlife Restoration Program, the Department of Defense’s Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration Program (REPI) program, the South Carolina National Wildlife Turkey Federation (SCNWTF), and some state funding.
The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. and will be located at 1900 Vanboklen Road, Eastover, S.C. 29044.
