The intern will assist SCDNR Wildlife Management Area and Heritage Preserve staff with wildlife management duties. These duties may include, but are not limited to, planting food plots and dove fields, herbicide application, prescribed burning, wildlife, and plant surveys (i.e., black bears, wild turkeys, fox squirrels, red-cockaded woodpeckers, rare plants), feral hog trapping, dove banding, GPS/GIS mapping projects, equipment setup and maintenance, and property maintenance (gates, signs, clean-up, etc.). Not all duties will be performed at all locations.
