All residents and non-residents born after June 30, 1979, must complete a hunter education course before a hunting license can be obtained.
Hunter Education Course Information:
- Find a hunter education course near you
- Pre-registration is required for all classes
(register online or by calling 1-800-277-4301) - Bring a #2 pencil and Social Security Number to the class
- All hunter education courses are free, unless noted on calendar
- Anyone under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a Guardian.
- If there are not courses in your area, online hunter education courses are available in two formats.
- Today's Hunter Ed Course - ($15.00 fee to take course & test)
- Be a safe Hunter Course - ($9.95 fee to take course & test)
- Complete a pre-exam at the end of your online course. Print out the pre-exam certificate and call to register to take the written final exam in person to receive your Hunter Education Card. For more information call 1-800-277-4301.
