Congratulations to our Laurens County officers for receiving the Zero Tolerance Award for their work in enforcing litter laws!

On Friday, June 1, Laurens County SCDNR officers were presented with PalmettoPride’s Zero Tolerance (ZT) Award plaque in recognition of their work to enforce S.C. litter laws. The ZT Award and Litter Enforcement Committee recognize the number of citations given for litter violations, the amount collected in fines, the number of dedicated litter officers on the team, and if field cameras are used to aid in capturing evidence of littering.

Laurens County SCDNR officers reported the following information to PalmettoPride in 2017:

16 citations

56 warnings

$2,460 fines assessed

Also, several litter pick-ups were organized as the results of litter violations.
