Shimano opens new fishing headquarters in LadsonMarch 28, 2017
Shimano, a company known in South Carolina for its fishing reels, rods, and lures, opened its new fishing headquarters in Ladson last week.
The company is one of many vendors which partners with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR), and the relocation of its North American fishing tackle operations to the state makes a statement about the quality of fishing available in the Palmetto State.
SCDNR Freshwater Fisheries Chief Ross Self feels Ladson was a great location for the new headquarters.
"What better place is there for a premier fishing tackle company to be based than South Carolina," he asked, "with our diversity of quality fishing opportunities from mountain streams to large reservoirs to blackwater streams and our inshore and offshore opportunities along the coast? Shimano has found a new home where fishing is big part of the quality of life, and a place where folks think of Shimano as a fishing tackle company first and as a bicycle company second."
