Tri-state wildlife biologists train for measurer certifications August 25, 2017
by Jay Cantrell, SCDNR Assistant Big Game Program Coordinator
Wildlife biologists from SCDNR, Georgia DNR Wildlife Resources Division and the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission gathered at the Webb Wildlife Center in Garnett, South Carolina, this week to participate in training to become certified as official measurers with the Boone and Crockett Club. Staff from Boone and Crockett came from Montana to conduct the weeklong training.
Once certified, these biologists will be able to officially measure and score all North American big game animals. Numerous SCDNR wildlife biologists have this prestigious qualification and are available to measure trophies for hunters upon request, one of many services we provide for hunters in South Carolina.
