The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources will conduct a South Carolina Drought Response Committee Meeting on December 1, 2016 at 10:00 AM, at the South Carolina Forestry Commission Headquarters, 5500 Broad River Road, Columbia 29212. Due to the deepening drought across parts of South Carolina we would like to begin the December 1 Meeting with a review of the drought status statewide. We will evaluate the drought status to determine if any declaration changes are needed. We will then discuss the proposed changes to the SC Drought Response Act.
Contact South Carolina's State Climatologist, Dr. Hope Mizzell, at (803) 734-9568 or e-mail at mizzellh@dnr.sc.gov for more information.
For previously issued drought statements see the archived status reports.
