WEATHER SUMMARY
Sunny, fair weather was observed through most of the work week. Widely scattered frost was reported early Tuesday morning as the mercury fell into the 30's. Afternoon high temperatures in the upper 70's and low 80's were common across the state. A pair of frontal boundaries crossed the area over the weekend. The only notable wet weather event was on Sunday as colder and drier air collided with a warm humid airmass. Clearing skies occurred late in the day Sunday on brisk northwest winds. Some Fall color is now being displayed across the higher elevations of the state. Statewide temperatures for the period averaged one degree below normal.
PRECIPITATION AND TEMPERATURE DATA
The highest temperature was 85 degrees at Johnston and Jamestown October 12. The lowest temperature was 30 degrees at Lake Bowen on the morning of October 9. The heaviest 24-hour rainfall reported was 1.58" at Greer on October 14. The average statewide rainfall for the period was 0.1."
