WEATHER SUMMARY
Hot, humid conditions were observed on Monday with strong thunderstorms reported that afternoon and evening. Flash flooding in Berkeley County was the result of heavy rainfalls. Additional flooding occurred on Thursday in Anderson and Pickens. A late season cold front on Friday helped clear the skies for the weekend and provided all day sunshine, cooler temperatures, and lower humidities. Several sites reported low temperatures in the 50's on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. The average statewide temperature for the period was two degrees below normal.
The highest temperature reported was 95 degrees at Pee Dee on June 16. The lowest temperature was 50 degrees at Lake Bowen on the morning of June 22. The heaviest official 24-hour rainfall reported was 4.69" at Clemson ending at 7:00 a.m. on June 19. The average statewide rainfall for the period was 2.1".
