WEATHER SUMMARY
Sunny, seasonal weather started the week with high temperatures in the 80's. A front passed through the state on Tuesday causing afternoon thunderstorms. Several counties bordering and including Charleston reported damaging winds. Heavy rainfall amounts over the upstate were measured. On Wednesday, evening storms were confined to coastal sites. Sunny conditions ended the work week before another round of thunderstorms and day long rains occurred on Saturday. Slow clearing started in the western counties on Sunday while coastal sites received isolated thunderstorms. The average statewide temperature for the period was three degrees above normal. The highest temperature reported was 91 degrees at Jamestown AP on June 5. The lowest temperature was 46 degrees at Table Rock on the morning of June 2. The heaviest official 24-hour rainfall reported was 2.62" at Longcreek ending at 7:00 a.m. on June 7. The average statewide rainfall for the period was 2.0".
