SCDNR Board Meeting Minutes

The Board of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources held a special board meeting at 10:30 am, September 18, 2024 at 2695 Aviation Way, West Columbia, SC. Notice of the date, time and place of the special board meeting was posted and emailed to the interested parties in compliance with SC Code Ann. §30-4-80(A). Members present included Chairman Norman Pulliam, Vice Chairman Mike Hutchins, Dr. Mark Hartley, Jerry Lee, Carlisle Oxner, Jake Rasor, Jr., and Duane Swygert. Director Robert Boyles, Chief of Staff Shannon Bobertz, Director of Human Resources Eva Smith and General Counsel Susan Porter also attended the special board meeting.
The purpose of the special board meeting was to discuss a personnel matter and receive legal advice regarding the search for a new director. Vice Chairman Hutchins moved that the SCDNR Board go into executive session pursuant to SC Code Ann. §30-4-70(A)(1) and Carlisle Oxner seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
Vice Chairman Hutchins moved that the SCDNR Board return to open session, noting that no action was taken during executive session. Carlisle Oxner seconded the motion, and the motion carried unanimously.
The next meeting will be a workshop held on October 17, 2024 at Cooks Mountain Pavilion, Eastover, SC.
The next meeting will be held on November 21, 2024 in Columbia, SC.
