Coastal Birds in South Carolina - How Can I Help?

Volunteers may be able to assist the Seabird & Shorebird Program with the following:

Report a Banded Bird

Contribute to Coastal Birds

Tax Checkoff

South Carolinians can help conserve coastal birds and other rare and endangered animals by making a check-off contribution on their state tax return using Form I-330. All contributions to the Endangered Species Fund are used specifically for research and conservation efforts aimed at threatened and endangered species in South Carolina. This support is vital to the Coastal Bird Program which receives no state general funds to protect South Carolina's seabirds and shorebirds.

SC Coastal Bird Conservation Program

South Carolinians can also give directly to coastal bird conservation through a donation to the Coastal Bird Conservation Program. The Coastal Bird Conservation Program is setup under the under the Nongame and Natural Areas Fund (SC Code of Laws ยง50-1-280). Funding donated to the Coastal Bird Conservation Program will be utilized for habitat protection and restoration, increasing nest success, education and research.
