February 27, 2015Youth turkey clinic to be held April 3 in Horry County

***Clinic is filled***

The S.C. Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Bass Pro Shops of Myrtle Beach will be offering a great opportunity to the youth of South Carolina to attend a turkey clinic on April 3 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. in Horry County. The clinic will introduce all the basic turkey hunting skills needed for a successful turkey hunt, game care and prep, turkey calling, building turkey blinds, a chance to practice their marksmanship skills on the range, how to keep it legal, and all the latest gear you will need while turkey hunting.

The first 15 students ages 10-17 who contact Lt. Kim Leverich at Leverichk@dnr.sc.gov will be able to attend. DNR will confirm your attendance by email with further instructions and the address for the clinic. Respond quickly for a slot as these clinics fill up quickly.

Lunch, door prizes, and game bags will be provided at this event for each participant. Parents are welcome to stay and join in on the fun. Please keep in mind this is a school holiday for some and not for others.
