After nearly 25 years in law enforcement, Jamie Landrum has been promoted to Lieutenant Colonel at the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. Lt. Col. Landrum started his public servant career at Spartanburg Police Department in 1995 before coming to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources as a conservation officer in 2000.

“My passion for outdoors, conservation and law enforcement lead me to make this change,” said Lt. Col. Landrum.

By 2004, Lt. Col. Landrum was promoted to 1st Sgt. and named Officer of the Year. He moved up to Lieutenant in 2008; and three years later, Lt. Col. Landrum was recognized again and was promoted to Region I Captain. Lt. Col. Landrum held that title until 2013 when he was promoted to Major.

To add to Lt. Col. Landrum’s prestigious list of accomplishments, he was selected to attend and graduate from the FBI National Leadership Academy in 2014. For an officer to attend, they must be nominated by their agency and selected by the National Academy Board. Less than 1% of law enforcement officers are selected to attend.

“It takes a lot of time, a lot of dedication, loyalty, a lot of time away from home,” said Lt. Col. Landrum. “You have to have an understanding family to commit all of that to the agency. My wife has always been there for me in supporting the foundation of my achievements. It’s been a rewarding 19 years with SCDNR, and I couldn’t have worked with a better group of guys and girls in green over my time here.”

We’re proud of Lt. Col. Landrum’s constant dedication to the agency over his decades of service. Congratulations!
