April 29, 2019

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources’ Law Enforcement Division and the UP2U® Litter Program will be providing assistance to student volunteers on a day of litter clean-up in Hampton County.

The event, Elevating Estill, will be May 3, starting at 9 a.m. on Sprayfield Road.

Community leaders Wise Batten, County Reprensentive Shedron Williams, Hampton County Sherriff’s Department, Code Enforcement Officers & Ferguson Forest Products are taking steps to clean up Hampton County.

Estill High School JROTC and Wade Hampton High School JROTC Cadets will be leading by example with the cleaning event. This event is about creating a sense of ownership and instilling community pride with the youth.

Last year, 6.3 million pounds of trash was picked up in South Carolina, according to the S.C. Department of Transportation.
