Fishing seminar to be held at Conway HS on Feb. 2
Plan to be in the Pee Dee area on Feb. 2 as the Conway High School Tiger Anglers are hosting a fishing seminar, "Let's Go Fishing." The $20 entrance fee is well worth the price as an impressive line-up of speakers will address the seminar and take questions. The seminar, held at the high school, is serving as a fundraiser for the Tiger Anglers (Conway High & Middle, and Whittemore Park Middle Bass Teams). The Conway Archery Team will also sell breakfast and lunch items.
The scheduled speakers include:
* Englis Glover - Reeling up the Coastline TV & Tee to Sea Charters
* Jay Baisch - Fishful Thinking Charters
* Jason Burton - Marlin Quay Marina
* Chris Jones - Conway Bassmasters
* Mike Foxworth - Marshall’s Marine
* Clemson University Fishing Team

Your school can also form a bass fishing club and join the Conway Tigers and other schools around the state in competition. All you need is to get a minimum of six students (within the 11-18 year old range) with dues paid and you can have a Youth Bass Fishing Club. You'll also need an adult at your school to help lead the club, provide advice and help arrange at least two club tournaments, fundraisers, speakers and other learning sessions pertaining to fishing for club meetings.
The Youth Bass Fishing Clubs is a product of a partnership between the S.C. Department of Natural Resources and The Bass Federation of South Carolina with help and support from parents, teachers, school districts, local bait & tackle shops, community partners and Pure Fishing.
