Bear season in Game Zone 4 will close early due to the harvest quota being reached

The 2024 season for bear in Game Zone 4 will close one hour after official sunset on October 21, 2024. It is legal to continue hunting in Game Zone 4 until the conclusion of the official closure time listed in this advisory.

Beech Bottom Falls Trail and Twin Falls Trail closed in Jocassee Gorges

Effective immediately, the S.C. Department of Natural Resources has closed the Beech Bottom Falls and Twin Falls hiking trails in the Jim Timmerman Natural Resources Area at Jocassee Gorges in northern Pickens County. The trails are closed due to severe damage from Hurricane Helene.
