A Conservation Project for
South Carolina's Northern Pintail Population

A team of waterfowl biologists from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and USGS - New York Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit at Cornell University are utilizing satellite technology to track the migration of female Northern pintail ducks that winter in South Carolina. With the aid of private and public monies, the researchers hope to determine migration corridors and staging locations of pintails wintering in South Carolina and understand the relationship between this Atlantic Flyway population of pintails and the Continental population. Visit our website to follow the birds along their migration.
