Dec. 10 is deadline for middle schools to enter 'Take Your Parent Fishing' poster contest
The deadline is Dec. 10 for middle schools to enter a poster drawing contest with the theme "Take Your Parent Fishing." The winning drawing will be used as part of Shakespeare's 2011 family fishing advertising campaign, and grand prizes for students include a kayak, life vests and fishing rods and reels.
Shakespeare is the national leader in youth fishing tackle products and is a partner with the S.C. Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in a number of aquatic education programs, including SC Reel Kids, Reel Art and the Fishing Tackle Loaner Program.
"The contest is part of a Shakespeare advertising effort to engage students, their families, and their schools in outdoor fishing and aquatic education activities," said Lorianne Riggin, DNR aquatic education coordinator. "We hope that students will want to participate to win big prizes for themselves, their teacher and their school."
The rules are relatively simple: 1) Poster must be hand-drawn; 2) Must include the Shakespeare logo and the phrase "Take Your Parent Fishing"; and 3) Drawing should be about a child and parent fishing.
