Way, South Carolina Wildlife/Classic photo contest coordinator, said, "We were overwhelmed with entries for the 2007 South Carolina Wildlife/Classic Photography Exhibition. We had the most entries in the history of the contest. This contest has increased in popularity each year. We have had numerous photo requests this year, following the feature in the January-February 2008 issue of South Carolina Wildlife magazine."
Only two prints are allowed this year. Downloaded the brochure and rules (PDF file).
Participants should be sure to read the guidelines carefully. Do not submit snap shots or e-mail your photos. Photos, 35mm and digital, must be 8x10, 8.5x11, or 8x12 in size mounted on 11x14 mount board or 11x14 in size and mounted on 16x20 mount board. All photos must be taken in South Carolina. The prints will be hung in the Moore Building at the State Fairgrounds during the Palmetto Sportsmen’s Classic, March 28-30.
Rules have been established to ensure fairness in judging and an attractive exhibit and to ensure the return of prints to the photographer. Failure to comply with all the rules will disqualify an entry. Although care will be exercised in handling all entries, the S.C. Department of Natural Resources, judges, personnel and other sponsors cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to prints.
Awards will include plaques for the first, second and third places in each division and an overall best of show. A ribbon and certificate will be given to every winner in each division. The judges reserve the right to exhibit the higher scoring prints depending on available exhibits space and award individual ribbons and certificates only to entries deserving recognition.
