Research Experiences for Minority Students

From 1989 - 2005 the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources - Marine Resources Division (SCDNR - MRD) has provided research experiences for undergraduate minority students through its summer internship program. Students conducted high quality research with dedicated scientists and learned new and exciting information about marine science. They developed skills in scientific literature review, project development, data processing and analysis, report writing and oral presentation.

Although the SCDNR - MRD is not currently sponsoring the MIMES Program, other undergraduate research opportunities are available.
