SC Archery in the Schools is happy to announce the first IBO 3D NASP Challenge to be offered in SC as a part of the NASP program. The NASP 3D format provides a familiar and accessible step for NASP archers to move into 3D shooting. The Challenge format has been designed to be conducted as part of major NASP tournaments such as Regional, State, National NASP, and IBO events. It is also intended to be used on a smaller scale by 3D clubs, JAKES, etc. There are no new training requirements for teachers or students to participate in the Challenge. Archers use the same NASP bows, arrows and accessories. Shooting distances, although unmarked between 10-15 meters are the same as well. The 3D targets are North American game animals with the NASP 10 and 9 scoring rings embossed. All of the same safety rules and standards apply.
SCDNR is pleased to announce Bass Pro Shops of Myrtle Beach is the sponsor and tournament host of the first SC NASP IBO 3D Challenge. Prizes will be awarded in each division for male and female along with prize drawings during every flight for registered archers.
On February 7th Bass Pro Shops of Myrtle Beach at the store location will be hosting the IBO 3D Challenge for individual archers who are part of a NASP school program. The tournament will begin at 8:00 am and ending at 5:00 pm. At 6pm an awards ceremony will be held at the store for the 3D Tournament along with Region Four Tournament awards. The school certified NASP instructor must register the individual archer and select a flight time. To register go to nasptournaments.org. Registration opens January 5, 2015 and the entry fee for the tournament is $10.00. Once the archer is registered the $10.00 entry fee in check or money order should be made out to "Harry Hampton" and mailed to Lt. Kim Leverich, 4208 Little River Rd, Myrtle Beach SC, 29577. Payments must be received by February 1st, 2015.
