SOUTH CAROLINA WEATHER AND CLIMATE

WEATHER SUMMARY

Cloudy skies and mild temperatures were observed early in the week. A line of storms began crossing the state on Wednesday morning with heavy rains upstate and high winds that caused scattered, light damage in their wake all the way to the coast. Clearing and cooler weather followed on Thursday and Friday with freezing conditions on Friday morning. Mild weather was reported on both Saturday and Sunday with temperatures rising into the upper 70's. The statewide average temperature for the period was six degrees above normal.

The highest temperature reported was 82 degrees at Edisto Island, Charleston AP and Allendale on November 18. The lowest temperature was 32 degrees at Chester and Union on the morning of November 21. The heaviest 24-hour rainfall reported was 6.45" at Jocassee Hatchery ending at 7:00 a.m. on November 19. The average statewide rainfall for the period was 0.9.”

RIVERS AND SURF

South Carolina river stages were near normal. Surf temperatures at Myrtle Beach and
Savannah will average around 66 degrees.
