WEATHER SUMMARY

Grounds were wet Monday morning from overnight sprinkles. A nearly stationary boundary positioned itself across the state during the day with rains becoming widespread on Tuesday. Several sites across the midlands and eastern counties reported totals around three inches. Afternoon temperatures only reached the mid 60's at the warmest. Slow clearing from west to east began on Wednesday and continued through the weekend. On both Saturday and Sunday it felt more like Summer had returned with afternoon high temperatures peaking in the 80's. The statewide average temperature for the period was three degrees above normal.

The highest temperature reported was 85 degrees at more than a dozen sites ranging from the Piedmont through the Midlands on November 2. The lowest temperature was 38 degrees at Table Rock on the morning of October 28. The heaviest 24-hour rainfall was 3.82" at Loris ending at 7:00 a.m. on October 28. The average statewide rainfall for the period was 1.7".

RIVERS AND SURF

South Carolina river stages were near normal. Surf temperatures at Myrtle Beach
and Savannah will average around 70 degrees.
