WEATHER SUMMARY

Light, isolated showers on Tuesday and Wednesday were the only period of much needed wet weather for the week. All the other days saw cool mornings and mid to upper 80 degree warmth. Open pan evaporation averaged between 3 and 4 tenths of an inch daily. The Memorial Day weekend weather allowed for unlimited outdoor activities. Statewide temperatures for the period averaged one degree below normal.

PRECIPITATION AND TEMPERATURE DATA

The maximum observed temperature was 93 degrees on May 26 at Williams. The minimum observed temperature was 41 degrees in Pickens on the morning of May 27. The heaviest official 24-hour rainfall was recorded at Jamestown with 0.91" ending at 7:00 a.m. on May 27. Statewide rainfall for the period averaged 0.1 inches.
