The general rainfall average for the state was raised to above normal by the excessive rains which fell in the Piedmont area. All rivers were above normal and light to moderate flood crests were reached on the tributaries of the Santee River between the 7th and 9th. Estimated flood damage, confined mainly to the Santee System, consisted of the following to tangible property, $20,000; to crops and livestock, $ 20,400; to suspension of business, about $95,000. The value of movable property saved by timely warnings was estimated at $166,000.
