Equipment and Tackle Needs

Bait: Most bass fishing tournaments only allow artificial lures. Make sure you check all tournament rules to verify what is allowed. No live bait is generally allowed except pork strips, rinds, etc.
Fishing Equipment: Most tournament rules only allow one casting, spin casting or spinning rod (8 foot maximum length from butt of handle to rod tip) and reel may be used at any one time. There is also usually a maximum number of rods allowable per boat. However, generally only one rod and reel is permitted to be used at any given time.
Tackle Systems: Generally, participants are limited to two standard “large” tackle systems of their choice no bigger than 18” x 15” x 10”.
